Fresno State D1 Equestrian Team
The Fresno State Equestrian Team is more than just a group of talented riders it’s a community of dedicated athletes who share a love for horses and a drive to compete at the highest level. From early morning practices to weekend competitions, and travel to far off venues, these women balance the demands of both their sport and academics with grace. Here's a glimpse into the life of the Fresno State Equestrian Team and what makes them truly special. Traveling with the Fresno State Equestrian Team is an adventure in itself. From long bus rides to staying in hotels, the team builds friendships and makes lasting memories on the road. Traveling to competitions provides the opportunity to bond outside of practice, strengthening their teamwork and unity as a group. The team is often on the move, heading to different states and competing at prestigious venues. Despite the rigorous travel schedule, the riders remain focused, supporting one another through the highs and lows of competition. There's no shortage of smiles, as the women know that every experience, whether a win or a learning opportunity, contributes to their growth as athletes. What really makes the Fresno State Equestrian Team stand out, though, is the incredible group of women who make up the team. With their positive attitude, fierce determination, and unbreakable bond, they are a shining example of what true sportsmanship looks like. From the serious competition days to the lighthearted moments spent with friends, the team is always filled with laughter and a sense of camaraderie. And let’s not forget about the horses. They may be four-legged athletes, but the bond between the riders and their horses is unmatched. The horses are not just tools for competition; they are partners in every sense of the word, contributing to the team’s success while forming deep connections with the riders. The mutual respect between horse and rider is the foundation of everything the team achieves.
I’m proud to be a part of the Fresno State Athletic Photography Team, where I get the opportunity to capture the excitement and intensity of college sports. My primary focus is on photographing the Fresno State Equestrian Team, a sport I feel a deep connection to due to my 11 years of horse experience. With 10 of those years spent in barrel racing and the past 3 years in show jumping, I bring a unique understanding of equestrian sports to my photography. This experience allows me to anticipate key moments, understand the nuances of horse and rider dynamics, and capture the perfect shots that truly represent the athleticism and grace involved. It’s an incredible privilege to combine my passion for horses with my photography, and I’m always excited to showcase the talent and dedication of the equestrian team.

Meet Hailey, a bright ball of energy who can’t stop moving, laughing, and lighting up every room she’s in! Whether she's dancing, vaulting on horses, or playing in the water, Hailey’s boundless energy and love for life are simply contagious. You’ll find her always smiling, always full of life, and always ready for the next adventure. Hailey’s passion for dance began early on, and it’s clear from the way she moves that she was born for it. She doesn’t just dance—she feels the music. With every beat, she comes alive, letting her body tell a story through graceful movements and playful expressions. It’s not just the formal routines that Hailey loves; she thrives in spontaneous moments, dancing for the pure joy of it. Whether it’s twirling in the living room or striking a pose just because, Hailey’s love for dance radiates from her. But Hailey isn’t just about the dance floor. She’s also an incredible talent in the world of vaulting on horses, a sport that blends gymnastics and horseback riding into one impressive feat. Watching Hailey vault is like watching poetry in motion. With incredible balance and strength, she performs acrobatic tricks on horseback with grace and confidence that defy her age. She’s an absolute natural, her energy syncing perfectly with the horse’s movement, making each vault look effortless and fun. Add to that her passion for gymnastics, and you’ve got a young athlete who loves to challenge herself. Whether she’s practicing a handstand, working on flips, or mastering her flexibility, Hailey is always on the move, pushing herself to be the best version of herself. But Hailey’s playful side is just as important as her athletic talents. This energetic young girl loves to have fun in the water, whether she’s splashing around in a pool or laughing as the waves crash at her feet. Her love for play extends to making funny noises and creating hilarious moments that leave everyone around her cracking up. It's in these silly moments that Hailey truly shines, showcasing her free spirit and joy for life. One day, Hailey needed some headshots, but what started as a quick photo session turned into something far more fun. We ended up capturing not just her portraits, but a true reflection of her personality through dance. These photos below perfectly show off her vibrant energy and playful nature. Whether she’s striking a pose mid-spin or bursting into laughter, you can see the essence of who Hailey is in every shot. It’s impossible to look at these photos and not smile. Hailey’s energy is infectious, and her spirit is simply unmatched. There’s something undeniably magical about horses on the beach. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore, the salty breeze in the air, and the soft sand beneath the hooves create an atmosphere that feels like something out of a dream. For Amanda and her stallion, this is not just a beautiful setting, but a place where their bond truly comes to life. As they gallop along the water’s edge, there’s an undeniable connection between them. Amanda and her horse have a deep understanding, built on years of trust and mutual respect. The rhythm of their movements together, the way they both know exactly what the other needs, is a testament to the unspoken language they share. It's as if the beach amplifies this bond, allowing it to shine in the most breathtaking way. One of the most unforgettable moments on this magical beach was when Amanda ran with her stallion, the wind rushing through her hair, an old parachute trailing behind them like a wild, colorful ribbon in the breeze. As her stallion galloped, the parachute billowed out, creating an ethereal image of freedom and power. It was the perfect visual trail for Amanda’s dress, which fluttered in the wind, adding a touch of elegance to the untamed beauty of the moment. The contrast between the boldness of the parachute and the delicate fabric of her dress was nothing short of mesmerizing. And of course, Amanda’s outfit was just as magical. She wore a golden one-piece, sparkling under the sun like a cowgirl straight out of a fairytale. The glimmer of the fabric caught the light with every movement, giving her the perfect “sparkly cowgirl” vibe. It was the perfect blend of strength and elegance, capturing the essence of who she is a fierce and graceful rider with a heart full of adventure. Together, Amanda and her stallion on that beach weren’t just creating memories they were living a dream, embodying the magic that only a horse, the ocean, and a special bond can bring.
One of my favorite locations for family photos has always been Placenta Canyon in Santa Clarita, California. This hidden gem of nature is breathtaking no matter the time of year. In the fall, the landscape transforms into a vibrant tapestry of orange, red, and gold leaves, creating a warm, inviting backdrop. In the spring, the canyon bursts with life, lush greenery surrounding you at every turn. And depending on the rain, there’s the occasional small river that adds an extra layer of magic to the scenery, winding through the landscape in a peaceful flow. The canyon is an incredible place to take photos, a serene and natural setting that’s perfect for capturing family memories. I recommend taking photos there during late October early November or late March early April. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing the Redmond family for years, and it’s been such a privilege to watch their bond grow over time. The beauty of their family dynamic is something special their shared laughter, their unique personalities, and the love that radiates from them. I’ve had the honor of capturing moments with them, from family photos to special milestones, and I’ve witnessed firsthand how their personalities shine through in every shot. I even took my own graduation photos there as a teenager, making it a place filled with personal significance. The serene, timeless beauty of Placenta Canyon, paired with the vibrant energy of the Redmond family, made for the perfect combination. During our photo sessions, I could really see how the siblings brought their fun, quirky personalities to life, making the shoot feel like a playful adventure rather than a simple photoshoot. They have such a natural camaraderie, with laughter and jokes flowing effortlessly throughout the session. And then there’s the undeniable love between the parents, a partnership that’s reflected in the way they interact with each other and their children. It’s always an absolute joy to witness and capture. Whether it was the peaceful landscape of the canyon or the pure, unfiltered joy of the family, it’s moments like these that remind me of how lucky I am to be part of these meaningful memories. The Redmond family’s photos always capture more than just an image; they capture a feeling, a connection, and a beautiful chapter in their lives.
